As we age, our hair produces less melanin, the same melanin that gives our skin its colour. The most evident sign of aging is the changing colour of our hair. This is the reason our hair becomes grey. At any age grey hair can appear. It’s not always a sign of aging. And our production of keratin also slows during the menopause. This particular protein fibre is a must in maintaining healthy, strong hair. Going bald, having thinning hair and coarse hair is a subject that affects many men, plus facial hair. To conceal your grey hair opt for the right shade of hair colour. If you use a dark colour it can draw attention to a dull complexion. So do not use a colour more than a couple of tones darker or lighter than your own hair colour.

Lowlights or highlights can conceal any grey you want to disguise by merging them into the rest of your head of hair. The same with hair colourants, stay away from going more than a couple of shades lighter than your own hair colour. That way you will not end up appearing older than you really are. The anti-aging or anti-wrinkle marketplace is a jungle of high priced creams that seemingly offer little and low priced options that achieve nothing. However, for those consumers who are frustrated with what’s available in stores, there are some home remedies that are often touted as miracle solutions at a fraction of the price.

The eye area is the most delicate. The natural aging process, as well as over exposure to the sun’s rays, can damage delicate skin. Puffiness around the eyes can cause stretching of the skin which result in wrinkles when there’s a return to normal. Preparation H has been rumored to have been used by the model industry for years to prevent this skin damage. Even though the drug maker, Wyeth, does not recommend the product be used in this manner and cautions that Preparation H shouldn’t be used near the eye or mouth area.

There are countless testimonials that these tactic works. How it works, is what needs to be considered. In the original formula of Prep H, that was created back in the 30’s it contained Biodyne, (which is often called LYCD, live yeast culture developments). A shark liver oil, which have potent anti-oxidant powers and used in many cancer treatments because of the slowing of cell turnover. Over 10 years ago, the FDA stopped the use of these ingredients in Prep H and today’s formula now uses phenylephrine, which is a type of astringent. Although, people that continue to use it in anti-aging and wrinkle treatment still say that it works. It could be that the other ingredients it contains, like mineral oil, petrolatum, corn oil, lanolin and thyme oil, might be the ingredients that are providing wrinkle reduction.

In previous times, olive oil was said to be a home remedy that produced wrinkle reduction and it has been found that shark liver oil can now be made synthetically from olives, rice and wheat germ, as additives in anti-aging creams and anti-wrinkle creams. You can still buy the original formula Preparation H containing Biodyne with LYCD and shark oil from Canada, and many people do, as it is still cheaper than some treatments that claim to contain these ingredients.

Cocoa Butter products also have been touted as good skin rejuvenators, and this is found in many anti-aging cream formulas, as well as many sun exposure products. In summary, it would appear the benefits might come from the intense oil content of the products and emollient properties. There are some anti-aging creams and anti-wrinkle creams sold on the Internet, that claim to contain LYCD’s or shark liver oil, but not like the original Prep H formulation. Preparation H in its present form has a blood vessel constrictor, which is what minimizes the swelling effect. It is not recommended that it be used in the eye area over a pro-longed period of time.

How to Wash Your Hair Properly

Step 4. - Rinse and Repeat. After you have given your hair a proper shampooing, you need to get al the grime, dirt and shampoo lather out of your locks. It’s important that when you rinse your hair, your rinse it properly. There can still be plenty of shampoo left in your hair, even after you think you have rinsed it out. When you have given you hair a thorough rinsing, you can if need be give you hair a second wash. Your hair is clean when it squeaks.

Washing your hair properly can truly make a huge difference to the appearance of your hair. The steps are simple enough, just follow the 4 steps above and you can’t go wrong.
