Five Great Tips for the Best Baby Nursery Decor

Your baby’s nursery will be one of the first places your baby will receive sensory signals and will spend almost the entire first couple of months between sleeping and quiet alertness. It’s advisable to create both a calm and soothing environment as well as one that creates an environment for brain growth and development. In using these five steps your bab’s nursery will provide the environment you will all enjoy.
Tip 1; Finding the Serrenity Within
The nursery should have a theme of calm and serenity. Babies will thrive in any environment that is calm and serene, allowing them to relax into the environment around them and observe. Consider the colors that are good for a serene atmosphere, like cool greens, browns and blues. You may alao consider using other pastels, such as purples, pinks, and mauves for the desired affect.
Tip 2: Consider Your Childs Sex
If you know the sex of your baby, use images that you want influence your child with. While, most people still tend to use blue for boys and pink for girls, baby bedding sets are designed with baby chic in mind. There are so many bright, wonderful colours and patterns to choose from to assist you in designing a beautiful nursery you will be proud of. Bright patterns and colours will also encourage brain development
Tip 3: How Your Child’s brain Develops
The brains of newborns and infants is always growing and firing. Most of the brain growth happens before the age of two and therefore babyhood and toddlerhood are important times in a child. Besides black and white, red will be one of the first colour your baby can see. We suggest using strong, bright colours to encourage brain stimulation and confidence. Consisder also the theme of animals or other images that a child will learn to identify as the child grows.
Tip 4: Consider Using a Trasitional Theme
To avoid having to redecorate your baby’s nursery as they grow into toddlerhood, choose a theme that transitions through each stage well. When decorating with a baby jungle theme, paint the walls a gentle green or brown as it will transition better than themed wallpaper or murals.
Tip 5: Choose Accessories Carefully
Accessories in your nursery should be considered carefully as you don’t want them to be a hazard when baby become mobile and curious. Instead of using items because they fit the theme, consider using functional items in a colour or pattern that goes with your theme. This could include a wall mounted nappy holder, a lotion dispenser positioned above the change table or dresser or even a toy box that grows with your child.
