Velour Tracksuits: The New Fashion Trend

Modern fashion sees trends come and go regularly but some manage to become staples by being popular for a long time. Denim jeans are the most notable trend turned staple in recent decades. Our new closet staple item seems to be a velour tracksuit.

Unlike other trends, shops continue to stock velour tracksuits season to season. It has enjoyed seasons of popularity in the past however this time they have been around for a couple of years already. Two years on the fashion scene is an age in modern styling.

Celebrities were the first to bring velour tracksuits into the mainstream. Britney spears dressed her bridesmaids in custom stitched pink velour tracksuits. Then the WAGs were spotted styling themselves in an array of different coloured velour tracksuits whilst their other halves were playing in international competitions.

Now everyone likes velour tracksuits, from high street to designer. They combine comfort and style which makes them a favourite. It is important however that if you are going to wear a velour tracksuit you buy one that is made out of good quality material. You do not want it to shrink or get too big when it is washed. Likewise you do not want to see the colour fading. If the material is less than the best the tracksuit will end up looking more chavvy than stylish.

If you do not want to look like mutton dressed as lamb, adults should stick to darker colours. Definitely stay away from bright pinks and greens. Flattering colours include black, brown and navy.

On the other hand, children look brilliant in bright colours. It is hard to find comfortable, practical and stylish clothes for young girls. When all of these features are combined your daughter will be happy. When children have been swimming or doing activities they like to be able to easily pull their clothes on and off.

When looking for a new velour tracksuit shop at different retailers. You will find some awful ones and the odd gem. Retailers which sell other velour clothing will be a good choice. £60 is the maximum price you want to pay for a velour tracksuit unless it is designer then you are just paying for the brand. Spending too little on the other hand will leave you with a shoddy piece of clothing.
